Jin Li, vice president of Fudan and a fellow at the Chinese Academy of Science, said the forum was in cohesion with China's ever-expanding robotics industry in recent years, while UK's early steps into the robotics research, especially its leading role in the assistant driving and service robot areas, have prompted the two sides' joint efforts in industry-university-research cooperation.

Fudan University is keen on developing its robotic strength. For instance, the Institute of Science and Technology for Brain-inspired Intelligence, which was founded in March, 2015, has taken advantage of Fudan's strength in computer and biological science and cooperated with 30 domestic universities to propel new breakthroughs in the field.
