Biomedical service alliance launched in Zhangjiang

The Shanghai Zhangjiang Biomedical Service Alliance recently announced its opening with the stated aim of strengthening the competitiveness of R&D and related services in local biomedicine sector.

Its founding members are the Shanghai Biomodel Organism Science & Technology Development Co, Shanghai Majorbio Science & Technology Co, Shanghai Oebiotech Co, Shanghai Wayen Biotechnologies Co, and Shanghai GMINIX Information Technology Co, all located in Shanghai's Zhangjiang area. The complementary nature of the various members involved allowed for the formation of the alliance.

Zhang Qinghua, general manager of the Shanghai Wayen Biotechnologies Co, said that they hope to enhance integration of Zhangjiang's technological resources and services and boost the development of biomedicine R&D.

Additionally, the alliance intends to include a greater number of top companies as its members, so as to provide better scientific research services to local companies and advance the biomedical service industry.

Shanghai's Zhangjiang area comprises 22 industrial parks and 124 sub-parks that are home to a variety of industry clusters with biomedicine being one of its pillar industries.
