Shanghai's Zhangjiang area established a federation of startups on March 3 to optimize its regional environment for entrepreneurship.

Currently, Zhangjiang has 68 professional incubators and more than 2,000 startup firms. The federation aims to help startups and business entrepreneurs in the early stages of development.

Rui Jinjin, president of the federation, expressed an understanding of the difficulties new startups face and the need for help in aspects of experience and development.

Yang, a founder of the Shanghai Huoxin Internet of Things Co, said that they were confused but pleased to find out, upon starting a business, that they would receive help from the federation. Assistance during the early stages of development can certainly help startups grow.

The move was part of Zhangjiang's efforts to nurture more startups and the wider aim is to turn the region into a science city.
