An entrepreneurship workshop in Shanghai's Zhangjiang area, Pudong district, recently hosted an activity to introduce investors and startups, Pudong Times reported on March 2.

Hundreds of top investment institutions, young entrepreneurs, and entrepreneurship service agencies attended the event in search of ideal partners.

Li, a representative from SB China Capital, a Singapore-based leading venture capital and private equity firm, revealed that the company intends to invest in projects related to healthcare, education, and shipping.

Additionally, Star Moon Venture, a peer-to-peer online lending platform, said the event offers the company the chance to get involved in projects still in the early stages of development, a mode it favors.

The young entrepreneurs in attendance brought forward a variety of startup projects with many hoping to find interested investors at the event.

The event, a joint effort of tuoniao.fm, a tech startup-focused news portal, XNode, a business incubator, and an entrepreneurship workshop, is expected to connect investors and startups and to boost innovation and entrepreneurship in Zhangjiang.

Chen Hongkai, head of the innovation service department at Shanghai Science and Technology Commission introduced the idea that Zhangjiang National Science Center forms a significant part of the regional innovation.

Consequently, boosting innovation and promoting the success of startup companies is fundamental for Zhangjiang. The area will be home to a number of top-rated scientific facilities including the Ultra-intense and Ultra-short Laser Facility and the second stage of Shanghai Synchrotron Radiation Facility.
