Foreigners Integration into Pudong event embraces diversity and inclusion

Shanghai's Pudong New Area hosted the 2024 Foreigners Integration into Pudong on Jan 13 to encourage and celebrate foreigners looking to make the area their home.

Nearly 600 individuals, including local governmental officials, enterprise executives, foreign high-level talent, and expat residents attended the event.

The event, co-hosted by the public security bureau and the women's federation of Pudong New Area and guided by the office of Overseas Personnel Administration of Pudong New Area, aimed to encourage more foreigners to come make a life in Pudong.

The event marked the issuance of the upgraded version of foreign permanent resident identity cards (Five-Star Card) for recommended foreign executives and high-level talent in Pudong. These cards enable holders to handle procedures related to transportation, consumption, finances, and daily life through internet platforms.

During the event, the Service Package for Foreign Nationals in Pudong New Area was officially released, providing a comprehensive guide for expats living and working in Pudong and offering support in various aspects of their daily lives. The service package offers services in six categories including residence and travel, family life, language and culture, and social integration, further solidifying the district's commitment to providing a robust support system for immigrant trying to integrate.

Additionally, the Lujiazui Financial City Exit-Entry Office was officially unveiled during the event, aiming to provide comprehensive services with a focus on a "one-stop, multi-functionality, high-quality" approach, enhancing the appeal of the financial city.

The event showcased a variety of cultural and artistic performances, including choirs and bands, a Ukulele performance, and a piano solo, highlighting the fusion of Chinese and foreign cultures. It emphasized Pudong's international appeal and unity between locals and the international community, echoing the theme "In Pudong Towards a Shared Future".

Pudong, known as a key hub for Shanghai's foreign residents, continues to serve as a gathering ground for foreign talent and strives to optimize the living and working environment for foreigners. The event underscored the district's commitment to fostering a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere for its international community.
